Research Engineer (April 2017- July 2019)

Project overview

iCasa is a set of integrated tools for the development and autonomic administration of pervasive applications, it is used today for teaching at Grenoble INP and in ParisTech.
It was envisioned to add capabilities to be able to ask remote networks for information about its sensors, for example.
Later on it was also envisioned to add machine learning capabilities to predict failures.

Contributions

-Inclusion of regression predictions with the addition of the possibility to store events in a time-series database.
-Design of the interconnection and hierarchical structure of applications.
-Design and development of tools to visually see the context connections.
-Serialization of data for a dual model (Java-Python) machine learning module.
-Creation of demos to showcase functionalities.

Team

A team composed one intern, two engineers, two PhD students and one Project manager.

Company

The University of Grenoble Alpes, hosts the Laboratoire d'Informatique de Grenoble is the largest research laboratory of Informatics in Grenoble, The scientific project of the LIG is "ambient and sustainable IT". The goal is to leverage the complementary nature and recognised quality of the 23 research teams of the LIG to contribute to fundamental aspects of the discipline (modelling, languages, methods, algorithms) and to create a synergy between the conceptual, technological and societal challenges that surround this theme.
